{"id":106622,"date":"2023-07-20T10:57:12","date_gmt":"2023-07-20T08:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwstage.bbs.unibo.it\/?page_id=106622"},"modified":"2024-06-18T10:07:43","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T08:07:43","slug":"kids-coding-week","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wwwstage.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/kids-coding-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids Coding Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year, the highly anticipated <strong>Kids Coding Week<\/strong> is doubling up!<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to inform you that the<strong> 6th edition of Kids Coding Week<\/strong> will be held in two separate periods, maintaining the same content in both sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Dates are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monday, July 1 to Friday, July 5, 2024, at Villa Guastavillani<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Monday, September 2 to Friday, September 6, 2024, at Villa Guastavillani<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An unparalleled opportunity for young people to explore the world of programming and technology through interactive workshops, educational games, and exciting challenges. With the support of industry experts, participants will develop new digital skills, stimulate their curiosity, and discover the potential of coding in a welcoming and stimulating environment.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is organised by BBS <strong>for the children of Community members<\/strong> (students, alumni, faculty and staff) as well as <strong>the children of the University of Bologna staff<\/strong> (faculty, researchers, technical-administrative staff, language assistants and managers). The children will be divided into two age groups: Group 1: <strong>8-10 years old<\/strong> and Group 2:<strong> 11-13 years old<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Is a workshop aimed at introducing girls and boys to computer programming (\u2018coding\u2019) using the models of <strong>creative computing<\/strong> and <strong>creative learning<\/strong>. There is also an Artificial Intelligence workshop presenting some <strong>AI<\/strong> paradigms through <strong>unplugged activities<\/strong> and the creation of simple <strong>tools<\/strong> using the visual programming language Scratch.<\/p>\n<p>With this tool, students will discover the basics of programming with Scratch, bringing video games, interactive stories and animations to life. They will learn fundamental concepts such as sequences, loops and variables, and practise techniques such as testing and debugging. This workshop will help them express themselves with technology, connect with others and understand the world through computational thinking. It will be an exciting and creative journey into the digital world, where experimentation and fun come together.<\/p>\n<p>To help participants overcome their limits and activate creative thinking, there will be <strong>IMPROlab<\/strong>, a playful learning workshop that uses theatre improvisation techniques to develop fundamental skills through play and fun. With a focus on collaboration, flexibility and problem solving, this workshop offers a unique educational experience, turning learning into an exciting and engaging adventure.<\/p>\n<p>Kids Coding Week will conclude with a presentation of the projects developed during the week, offering parents an opportunity to see the results of the work done.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in <strong>Kids Coding Week costs \u20ac 300<\/strong>, with snacks and lunch included.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is organized by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwstage.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/faculty\/gabbrielli-maurizio\/\">Maurizio Gabbrielli<\/a>, Associate Dean for AI and Digital Soul at BBS<\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwstage.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/faculty\/ricci-2\/\">Alessandro Ricci<\/a>, Associate Professor at DISI, University of Bologna,<\/strong> in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/disi.unibo.it\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI), University of Bologna<\/strong><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.criad.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Research Center for Applied Informatics in Education and Teaching<\/strong><\/a> (C.R.I.A.D.), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.16lab.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>16Lab Experiential Training<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The availability of places is limited, enrolment will be closed once the maximum number is reached.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This year, the highly anticipated Kids Coding Week is doubling up!
